Orocereus Trollii

Orocereus Trollii

Oreocereus trollii, commonly known as the Old Man of the Andes cactus, is a species of cacti native to Argentina and Bolivia. It grows in very arid mountainous areas where its thick hair protects against light frost and the intense sunlight found at the altitude where it lives. It branches at the base, forms clumps of short chunky columnar shoots that can lay sideways with time and shoots out pink to violet-red tubular flowers in summer.
